Nest Architecture, Inc. is seeking a CAD/BIM Design Technician to join our small team in Culver City, CA.  

CAD/BIM Design Technician

Job Responsibilities

As a CAD/BIM Design Technician, you will draft, convert, produce and edit drawings under the guidance of a licensed architect. You will work closely with the licensed architect to develop comprehensive residential and commercial drawings for client and permit approval.

CAD/BIM Design Technician responsibilities:

·       Draft/generate redlines:  plans, diagrams and schedule drawings in ArchiCAD from redlined drawings

·       Provide design assistance and calculations to Designers and Engineers

·       Coordinate, markup, and review drawings with consultants

·       Produce drawings/projects consistent CAD/BIM standards

·       Assist with management and organization of project files

·       Continue to develop technical skills through our learning and development interface, mentorship relationships and become an expert with our CAD/BIM standards

CAD/BIM Design Technician

Job Requirements

This is a great opportunity for a CAD/BIM Technician with demonstrated proficiency in ArchiCAD. To succeed in this role, you will need effective organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and be a team player with strong communication skills.

Additional requirements:

·       Associate’s degree (or higher), completion of trade school, or equivalent formal training

·       Minimum 2 to 5 years of working experience in an Architecture firm using ArchiCAD

·       Ability to read, understand, and communicate information through the use of floor plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules

·       Familiar with latest version of ArchiCAD

·       Familiar with Los Angeles and California building practices and code requirements

·       Experiencing rendering using ArchiCAD and post-processing in Photoshop preferred

·       Possess drafting skills including knowledge of standard symbols and abbreviations, line weights, and drawing arrangement

·       Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats

·       Available to work necessary hours in order to meet project deadlines

·       Familiar with residential and commercial construction

·       Good written and verbal communication skills
