Description

Studio Bergtraun AIA Architects is a dynamic studio in Emeryville, whose high-end residential projects have been featured on home tours and in publications and books, including Architectural Record and the ‘TSR’ iconic book on Sea Ranch homes.

Located in the heart of Emeryville’s design hub, our studio environment is reasonable and flexible. We value life-work balance and have a constant supply of fresh espresso in our kitchen! Our core belief is that every building, new or remodeled, must be built with the sustainability of our planet foremost in mind. We strive for the highest quality design and creative use of materials, paired with exceptional responsiveness to our clients’ and contractors’ needs.

While focused on residential work, we intentionally keep our portfolio varied with a diverse mix of project type, scale, and location to maintain a creative office environment.

Among our many current projects are: New residences in Sea Ranch, rebuilding homes for fire victims in the Santa Rosa area, a new urban farm campus for Urban Adamah in Berkeley, as well as various remodels and new single-family homes all around the Bay Area.

We are looking for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic person to join our team and share our love of architecture and the environment. This position provides a great opportunity for well- rounded, long-term growth, while working directly with the Project Architect and Principal on all aspects of projects from design development through construction.

This work includes but is not limited to the development of drawing sets for all phases, coordination and correspondence with clients, contractors and consultants, and onsite C.A.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years relevant professional experience in residential work
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • A self-starting team-player with a strong work ethic, eager to learn with a positive, team oriented attitude and dedication to thoughtful design
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD desirable
  • Last but not least, a sense of humor is necessary!
